Kampung Tekek is the largest village on Tioman. It is located on the western side, about mid-height of the island and has all the facilities for both tourists and locals.

In Tekek there is the main port of the island, an airport, an ATM, a hospital or even a fire station.

Tekek is one of the two resorts on Tioman that has an asphalt road for both motorbikes and cars. The road runs from the north of Marine Park to the south to the famous Berjaya Tioman resort. After the airport, it forks and another road runs across the island along the mountain tops to the resort on the east side of Juara.

In Tekeko, you can rent a scooter or take a taxi, a so-called 4WD - a four-wheel-drive vehicle with a body such as a Toyota Hilux.

Beaches in Tekeko

There are 3 major beaches in Tekeko. In the south Tekek South Bay, in the centre Teluk Tekek and in the north Marine Bay. The largest is the one in the centre of the village.

However, by its nature Tekek is not a popular resort, so you won't see many tourists here. Most of them head to the four-star Berjaya Tioman resort in the south of the village. Here you'll find a spacious wide sandy beach with golden sand and ideal conditions for snorkelling.

Just in sight of the resort you will see the small island of Renggis Island.
